Do you wanna eat dirt and bugs or veggies?
No judgment if you prefer the dirt and bugs. Cool with me. I think most of us prefer the veggies. 🙂
When I see the aphids on my broccoli I don’t totally freak anymore. I figure, added protein if one sneaks by me. Can’t get them all sometimes, especially when you buy organic.
Having said that, I do all I can to get my veggies as clean as possible without creating an all-out, 5 hour ceremonial washing of the veggies, if you know what I’m saying. I don’t have time for 16 rinses, 5 vinegar baths, any specific detox wash blends, or special sacrifices required of the veggies gods to ensure that my veggies are clean. Not that there’s anything wrong with doing those things if you like special washes, vinegar baths, or sacrifices to the veggies gods, whatever those might be. I go for largest impact in the shortest amount of time.
Of course, I think there’s a difference if you buy organic or not. If your veggies are covered in pesticides, you may consider a vinegar bath or special veggie wash. Either way, I believe there are good, better, and best ways to wash veggies. This video gives a concise take on what I think is the best way to wash veggies!
